Last week, I went to another Zachys DC tasting. Upon entering, we were greeted with a generous pour of Laurent-Perrier Rosé. Cathleen Burke-Visscher, Founder, of Wine Works & Co., guided us through a fabulous tasting from Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou, Chateau Fourcas-Borie and Chateau Lalande-Borie. It was so cool that we got to do a vertical tasting of Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou’s 2014, 2008 and 1986! Each more delicious than the next. However, the surprise of the night was the 2012 Chateau Fourcas-Borie — definitely wallet friendly! (Chateau Fourcas-Borie is owned by Bruno Borie, the owner of Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou.)

As the tasting came to an end, we were treated to a 1988 Sauternes from Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey (Thanks Tim!) that was poured beside a La Fleaur d’Or 2014. You can definitely see the difference in color. It was the perfect ending!
