I’ve been waiting to try this wine for a while. I decided last night was perfect. It’s made by Cruse Wine Co., a small boutique winery in Petaluma, California. I purchased this bottle at a wine shop in DC called Domestique. They have a lot of different, intriguing wines with very knowledgeable staff.

Sometimes when you purchase a wine with a fun or interesting label, the wine inside is not so great. I got lucky! This wine is beautiful in color, tart cherry, watermelon, a little funk. Looks like a Rosé. Even the sediment in my glass was a fun, bright color! It’s made with Valdiguie — some call it Napa Gamay. At 12.5% ABV, it’s an easy drinking wine. So glad I have a glass or two left. Perhaps I’ll drink the rest with an early lunch (is that better than saying with breakfast? Lol).

I still have a Pet Nat from this winemaker but I’m on the lookout for more.
