Initially, I was supposed to take my Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) exam (check out my first post, “Just Start Already”). Went on vacation to South Africa and got behind in class/studies. Never caught up. I decided to postpone it. I knew I couldn’t pass without seriously studying. Was that the best decision? For me, yes.

I decided to take a look at WSET (Wine Spirit Education Trust). WSET “provides globally recognised education and qualifications in wines, spirits and sake, for professionals and enthusiasts.” They offered onsite classes that included wine tasting. Learning AND drinking wine? Right up my alley!! The decision was made to skip WSET I and go directly for WSET II.

Studying and interacting with others was the way to go. I took the test. Stressed for a few weeks waiting for the results. I thought, I just need a certain amount of points to pass. That’s fine.

Today, I found out I passed WSET II with MERIT!! What a surprise!! Yay!! I can’t wait to receive my certificate and pin. This gives me the confidence to know I will pass my CSW exam.

Life is about having faith in yourself. To keep going and trust your gut.

A little prayer doesn’t hurt either…

Here are some bottles from class and the “Yay Me” bottle of Crèmant (see “Poppin all the Bottles“).
