I brightened up my Monday with a yummy pizza and this blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre) – what folks lovingly call GSM.

This wine is from Powell & Son, located in the Barossa Valley in Australia. I love that this is a family owned winery. The father started out in economics and quickly realized that wasn’t for him. We have to be brave enough to try different things. Life can and will take you down many paths. Which will you choose?

Hmm, interesting how wine can make you think this deep. I’m thinking that I really need to work on distinguishing more notes in wine. To develop my palate better. In my glass I smell oak, blackberry, cherry but according to the description there was also herbaceous notes, spice. You smell what YOU smell but ugh, I guess I have more drinking to do!
