*Maryland Wine Month ended last night. Even though I had a few technical difficulties, I still wanted to include this post.*

Maryland Wine Month means celebrating with a glass of 2015 South Slope Red Blend from The Vineyards at Dodon. Located in Anne Arundel County, Dodon is a ninth generation family owned farm. It’s definitely seen a lot of life throughout its almost 300 years. It was a tobacco farm, grew crops, had livestock, had a prize winning Thoroughbred and in 1890 Dodon was donated to the Catholic Church and they gave it back in 1929. Yup, it’s seen a lot of life! Dodon is a beautiful property that currently only has “Outdoor Pop Up” reservations only — so check out their IG page to find out the times you can visit. You should totally go!

The wine: Silky with prominent notes of cherry. Earthy. Lovely tannins. It spent 30 days in maceration. 21 days in French oak. Small batch. 48% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot. ABV 12.6%
