Getting around Morocco can be a nail biting experience. Whether it’s going around a traffic circle or bargaining for a taxi ride (bargain, bargain, bargain!). But hey, if there’s food involved, we’ll make it happen! Our first dinner out in Casablanca was at La Sqala. La Sqala is located in a 18th-century Portuguese fortress surrounded by beautiful gardens and fountains. We were so lucky there was live entertainment for the evening.
For dinner, I ordered a delicious Chicken Tagine. A Tagine is a traditional cooking clay pot used in parts of North Africa and is also the name of an actual dish — consisting of meat or vegetables and sometimes couscous. We definitely ordered mint tea, a must when in Morocco. Fyi, this restaurant does not serve alcohol but a lot of restaurants do.
I just love your presentations and descriptions. As I was reading, I was traveling too, lol. I felt like I was on a luxurious trip with you. I could not stop reading and viewing all of the lovely pictures and moments on each trip. I would like to know did you video anything while traveling? I would like to see them. I notice you know lot about wines. Are you planning to write a book in the near future, or organizing a travel group? One more question, “Drinky Larue”, how did you come up with that name?
Thank you for sharing….
Aww! Thank you such much for taking the time to read my blog. I greatly appreciate that. I did take videos but for some reason, I can’t upload them.
Normally, a friend and I take a group to Napa/Sonoma every year! Maybe 2021! Lol. Also the name Drinky LaRue is a long story. Maybe I’ll write about it one day! 😉
