Did I pick this wine because of the label? Yup. I know that’s a no no to some. It’s a pretty wine label created by Brooklyn artist Zimer. Seriously, that’s not the only reason. I also selected this wine because it’s a Cabernet Sauvignon (4% Cab Franc) from Columbia Valley and today is the last day for Washington State Wine Month!

For me, this wine is medium bodied. I get notes of Blackberry and Black Cherry with a little vanilla. Some say tobacco. An easy drinking Red that would be fun to take to a party. Everyone would enjoy it, but careful, it’s 14.5% (ABV).

The winemaker, Juan Muñoz-Oca was raised in Mendoza, Argentina. He came to Washington State in the summer of 2001 and started working at Chateau Ste. Michelle. Juan has said, “Winemaking has been in my family, it’s in my blood, it’s what I do, and it’s who I am.” You have to love someone so passionate about what they do.

I hope to feel that type of passion. With experience I know it will come. Until then, I will continue to share my journey through wine, cocktails, food, travel and plain ole fun!

Stay tuned!
