I love a casual wine tasting where you can feel comfortable asking questions and nothing is off limits. Saturday was one of those times.

It started with a fun and funky wine tasting outside on the patio at Primrose with Sebastian, the chill and vibrant owner. If you follow any wine accounts on IG, you’ll notice that natural wine (no additives or little to no sulfites added to the wine equals no wine headache the next day!) seems to be a “thing.” Our wine lineup included natural wines that ranged from Kabinett Riesling, a Jura Chardonnay, a tart Orange wine made with Macabeo, a bright, earthy Beaujolais, a sour cranberry Primitivo and a bold Toro. I truly enjoyed each wine. Props to the ladies of Winona DC for setting this up!

After tasty wine and fun banter, we were starving. So we took our hunger from Primrose to Brookland’s Finest Bar & Kitchen. I wanted to order almost everything on the menu. Instead we started with Brussels Sprouts CHIPS that had a lemon & dill cream sauce (soooo good & crunchy) and Pretzel Bites with white truffle oil and whole grain mustard. My entree was a simple but delicious chicken sandwich. Washed it all down with a DC Brau El Hefe Speaks — DC Brau is a dope brewery in DC that has been around since 2011.

See, it was a great Saturday!!
